The difference is that the Black Craft features a full polyurethane covering. This makes the hammer non-sparking and resistant to grease, oil and other chemicals that may damage the hammer. The Black Craft allows the user to hit materials very hard but use much less effort to do so thus making it easier on the arms, shoulders, back and joints. The Black Craft dead blow hammer features faces that are made from extruded nylon material and will not crack like molded, screw in face inserts used by other manufacturers. The thick durable inserts are tough enough to hit most surfaces, including brick, concrete, rock, steel, wood and plastic making the Black Craft an excellent alternative to the traditional steel hammer.
